Arrival & Dismissal
This school year there will be different routines when it comes to arrival and dismissal here at Bishop Arts!
For the 2025-2026 school year, the front entrance of our school will be CLOSED for arrival and dismissal of students. This is due to ongoing construction on our front office. This decision is best for the safety of our students. The front entrance will only be used for incoming and outgoing visitors.
Dismissal Cards
Starting this year, Bishop Arts will be implementing new dismissal cards that go home with every student on our campus. These dismissal cards will be used for ensuring the safety of our students when they are released by their teachers to their parents/guardians. This important card will be used as information for who is allowed to pick up the student being released. This will be a requirement for ALL students to have.
Dismissal cards will be ready and sent home on Thursday, August 14. They will be sent home in your child's blue Thursday folder.
Dismissal cards are expected to be used starting Monday, August 18. No exceptions.
If a parent/guardian needs a replacement card, they may come to the school's front office for replacements. Please make sure to bring your identification when requesting a replacement card.
Arrival Procedures
A map is provided below in order for everyone to better understand where the new arrival locations will be.
These are the new arrival procedures for students:
PRE-K 3 & PRE-K 4: On the first day of school, students may enter through the side doors on Melba Street. AFTER the first day, students will need to arrive through the back doors behind the school, between the Cafeteria & the Gym.
ECSE: All ECSE students will be allowed to enter through the side doors on Melba Street for the entire school year. The students who get transportation on the bus will be dropped off at the side doors on Ninth St.
Kinder-5th Grade: ALL students in Kinder through 5th grade, will need to enter through the back doors behind the school, between the Cafeteria and the Gym.
There will be staff at ALL student entry locations to ensure that everyone gets to their correct class safely.
Dismissal Procedures
A map is provided below in order for everyone to better understand where the new dismissal locations will be.
These are the new dismissal procedures for students:
PRE-K 3 & PRE-K 4: Pre-K students will be dismissed from the 1st Grade hallway doors (beside Melba Street and next to the Gym) at 3:15 PM.
ECSE: ALL ECSE students will be dismissed at the side doors by Melba St. for the entire school year.
Kinder & 1st Grade: Students in Kinder & 1st will be dismissed from the back door of the Gym. This is right next to the 1st grade hallway doors.
2nd Grade-5th Grade: Students in 2nd Grade through 5th Grade will be dismissed outside on the blacktop, located in the back of the school next to the playground.
ALL students will be dismissed by their teachers at their designated spots.
